Hiheta hits the highest heights for Hull

HULL increased their lead at the top following a 5-41 win away at Vale of Lune.

The visitors led 0-17 at the interval through tries from Keane Naylor, Simon Humberston­e and Steve Hiheta with Steve Johnson adding one conversion.

In the second half the visitors added three more from Hiheta, Alex Heard and Steve Johnson who also kicked two conversion­s

However the star match of the programme was at Crow Trees where

Billingham edged it 14-18 away to Blaydon.

The home side were 18-8 ahead at the break through tries from Jack Appleton and Dan Marshall both converted by Jamie Guy to a try from Martin Hopley.

In a tight second half tries from Elliott Husband and Matt Kirkby sealed the win for the visitors. Harrogate in fourth place saw off Kendal 3-25 at Mint Bridge.

Alnwick continued their progress since promotion, 8-32 winners away at Ilkley.

Craig Bachurzesk­i led the charge with two tries followed by Rob Cuthbert Jake Woods and Simon Ord. Peter Erskine was the Ilkley try scorer, converted by Charles Ramsey.

Kirkby Lonsdale were 19-13 victors at home to

Lymm. Dave Barton with two and Dan Thompson were the try scorers with Tom Pickthall successful with two conversion­s. Ollie Higginson and Cashel Chilvers crossed for Lymm with Cormack Nolan slotting a penalty.

Sandal had the beating of Wilmslow 29-46 at Pownall Park. Austin Thompson went in for two with Will Morecambe, Alex Edler, James Eller and Tom Baxter claiming one each. Greg Wood adding five conversion­s and two penalties.

Wilmslow deservedly claimed a try bonus through Jack Nicholson, Robert Taylor, Alex Donaldson, Alex Taylor and Will Maslam, Robert McCallum landing two conversion­s. Wirral got the better of

Rossendale with a 41-31 win at Thornton Common.

Dan Harvey, Joe Murray, Ben Brooks, and Chris Speed were the try scorers. Rossendale came back thanks to Dominic Moon, Jack Wilkinson and George Peel tries.
