- By JAY BAYFORD

CARDIFF secured their fourth consecutive victory following an entertaining encounter with Llanelli at Cardiff Arms Park.

The Sospans raced into a 14-0 lead as Ollie Reyland and Ashley Sutton both took advantage of Llanelli’s quick start to touch down with Sutton adding both conversions.

The hosts replied through Ben Thomas and Steffan Jones was accurate with the conversion.

Sutton then found the posts from the tee to round off a pulsating opening 10 minutes.

Llanelli kicker Sutton was on target with another three-pointer before hooker Kirby Myhill hauled Cardiff back into the game and Jones made no mistake with the conversion. A penalty try for the hosts soon followed, which put them ahead before the break.

It was a more subdued start to the second half, compared to the first, but fans only had to wait five minutes for the next try with Morgan Allen earning Cardiff a bonus point.

Ioan Davies followed him over the whitewash with Jones adding both conversions. Home skipper Luke Crocker was the next to add his name to the scoresheet and replacement Gareth Thompson notched his 500th point for Cardiff with the resulting conversion.

Llanelli rallied late on with a penalty try and touch downs from Chris Gorvett and Josh Weeds but a Will Rees-Hole try and a Thompson penalty sealed the win for Cardiff. Star man Ben Thomas - Cardiff
