Ravens have no answer as slick Carmarthen cut loose

- By STEFFAN THOMAS Star man Aled Thomas – Quins

QUINS crossed for six unanswered tries as they thrashed a lacklustre Bridgend side in west Wales.

Tries from Nick Reynolds, Dale Ford, Gethin Robinson, Matthew John, Thomas Ball and Dylan Morgan plus 14 points from Aled Thomas and Steffan Marshall saw them through.

All Bridgend could muster was six points from the boot of Will Holley.

Reynolds opened the scoring when he touched down between the posts after a nice inside break. Carmarthen’s pack began to get on top with Ford crossing after a 20-metre driving line-out.

But Bridgend were given some hope when Quins scrum-half Liam Davies was sent to the sin bin for killing the ball at the breakdown.

Holley knocked over a simple penalty as the visitors trailed 15-6 at the break.

Despite a valiant defensive effort, the Ravens had no answer to Carmarthen’s power as Robinson powered his way over the line for their third try.

John sealed the bonus point when he crossed in the corner after some slick handling from Thomas and Josh Batcup.

Carmarthen’s backs were running riot and put impressive winger Ball over at the corner after a move which began inside their own half.

Replacement full-back Morgan completed the scoring when he sidestepped two defenders before touching down.
