Gogs squander advantage as Blue & Blacks on the rise

- By STEFFAN THOMAS

CARDIFF came from behind to beat RGC 1404 in atrocious weather conditions at Arms Park.

Tries from Will ReesHole, Adam Jones and Joe Tomlinson, plus ten points from the boot of Steffan Jones, was enough to secure the victory.

The visitors scored three tries of their own courtesy of Evan Yardley and Aron Evans who bagged a brace.

Cardiff opened the scoring within the first ten minutes when centre ReesHole hit a perfect angle to slice open RGC’s defence before touching down.

Yardley eventually broke Cardiff’s resistance in response as he powered his way over from short range off the back of a driving lineout.

The Gogs grabbed the lead when scrum-half Efan Jones took a quicklytapped penalty before offloading to Billy McBryde who released Evans on the outside.

The big winger galloped down the touchline leaving Morgan Allen for dead to touch down for their second try as the visitors took a 12-7 lead into the interval.

Cardiff seized the initiative in the early stages of the second half with Adan Jones burrowing his way over the try-line after a series of forward carries by the home pack.

Tomlinson then extended their lead with a well-worked try from a driving lineout.

Evans crossed for his second in the right-hand corner for RGC soon after but it was too little too late. Star man Morgan Allen - Cardiff
