Easy for Munster but injury to Farrell mars win

- By DECLAN ROONEY

The first try came after 14 minutes when Cronin crashed over, but Farrell picked up his injury in the final carry. With Ruaan Lerm in the bin for playing the No.9, Munster scored their second when Conway finished on the right.

Sweetnam scored off a Conway chip, Holland went over from close range before Marshall mauled over. Tertius Kruger (high tackle) and Andisa Ntsila (tip-tackle) were binned within a minute of each other and Munster finished the job through Kleyn and Rory Scannell tries. JOHANN Van Graan praised his side’s discipline but is waiting for positive new of Chris Farrell’s knee injury after their bonuspoint win over Kings.

Munster held Kings scoreless – and also won the penalty battle 15-0 – but in the middle of the Six Nations, Farrell needs good news before he rejoins the Ireland camp today.

“He could have continued but he had some pain,” said van Graan. “He is such an important player for us and Ireland so we took him off straight away.”

Tries from Neil Cronin and Andrew Conway in the first half were added to by Darren Sweetnam, Billy Holland, Rhys Marshall, Jean Kleyn and Rory Scannell as Munster cruised in.

With such a one sided penalty count, Kings had three players sin-binned, and van Graan was impressed with how his players maintained their discipline: “I thought we kept our discipline in one or two trying situations.”
