Solid display sees Hull stay at summit

HULL remain top of the table and are now nine points clear of Billingham in second place after beating Alnwick 8-26 at Greenfield.

Joe Stafford, Harvey Harding and Cameron Curry were the try scorers with Simon Humberston­e slotting two conversion­s, the visitors also forcing a penalty try. Scott Atkinson crossed for the home side to add to an early penalty from James Bird.

Billingham lead the chase after taking the bonus point in beating bottom of the table Wilmslow 19-43 at Pownall Park. Lewis Bundy-Davis, Jack Masters and Sean Street crossed for the home side with Connor Murdock successful with two conversion­s. Blaydon thrashed Rossendale 61-10 - tries coming from Dan Taylor, Jamie Guy, Nathan Daley, Frazer Wilson (2), Dan Marshall, Rob Lenderyou, Harry Borthwick and Keith Loughlin, with Guy also landing eight conversion­s. Tom Jones and Luke Foster went over for the visitors either side of the half. Wirral edged it 15-16 away at Ilkley through a try from Matt Loon converted by James Annetts who secured the win with three penalties. The home side will not be happy having scored two tries to their opponents’ one. Pat Power and James Lowes dotted down with Charles Ramsey landing a conversion and a penalty.

Sandal were 29-36 victors away at Kendal. Austin Thompson, Elliott Thompson, Sam Tee with two and Jack Townend crossed the whitewash for the visitors, Greg Wood contributi­ng four conversion­s and a penalty.

Kirkby Lonsdale went down 24-42 at home to Harrogate who took the bonus point to improve their advantage over Wirral and keep pressure on Blaydon one place above. James Barker, Harry Ralston, Dave Barton and Harry Huddleston all crossed, with Mike Fearon and Tom Pickthall kicking a conversion each. Despite a late comeback

Vale of Lune went down 24-33 at home to Lymm. Jordan Dorrington, Chris Ranwell (2) and Sam Wallbank all bagged tries with Damian Hall adding two conversion­s. Rick Halford (2) crossed for the visitors with Matt Connolly, Aaron Rashid and Ben Stansfield in for one each.
