The joy of six as Park still right in the mix

- By MATT LONG

ROSSLYN Park remain in the hunt for promotion after defeating Chinnor in a tight affair at the Rock.

Third-placed Park ran in six tries to earn a vital bonus point and their fifth straight victory.

Chinnor raced into an early 14-0 lead inside the opening ten minutes to stun their hosts.

First, a good passing move allowed Edward Hoadley to sprint clear and dot down before Thomas Jubb jumped on a loose ball to add a second, with fullback Jonathan Hopkin converting both.

Park responded quickly with a converted try of their own when Stewart Maguire bundled over after a good few phases.

Arthur Ellis then went over following a driving maul before captain Hugo Ellis burst through to score and cap the turnaround.

The skipper then battled his way through to secure a bonus point for Park.

Hopkin did cut deficit for Chinnor with a long-range penalty just before the break but the hosts added a fifth try shortly after the restart when Maguire broke through the defence to score.

Chinnor got themselves back into the contest following a good line break and offload from Joseph Dancer, providing Jubb with the easy task of going over to narrow the deficit.

However, it would be Park who scored next when Adam Frampton dived over, although Reon Joseph raced clear late on to seal a deserved losing bonus point.
