Welsh All Blacks relegated with seven games to go

- By JOHN MURPHY Star man Aaron Evans - RGC

NEATH have been relegated from the Principality Premiership after they were comfortably defeated by RGC1404 at the Gnoll.

Tries from wings Aaron Evans, Sam Jones, Delwyn Jones and Iolo Evans, plus four points from the boot of Billy McBryde, was enough to secure a bonus point win for the Gogs.

All the Welsh All Blacks could muster was a try from Ifan James with Callum Hall kicking five points.

This latest reverse means Neath have become the first of four teams to be automatically relegated to the Championship with seven games to go to the end of the season.

RGC made the perfect start, with Evans crossing for their opening try after some nice hands from his inside backs. His fellow wing Jones was next on the scoresheet as he showed his pace to get over at the corner.

Inside centre Jones then powered his way over from short-range at the stroke of half-time to give Mark Jones’ side a commanding 19-0 lead at the interval.

Hall pulled three back for Neath but Evans put the result beyond doubt with their fourth try after hitting an incisive line to score.

Neath finally crossed the whitewash, with James scoring after a period of sustained pressure from the hosts. But it was too little, too late, as Neath were condemned to relegation.

A good day then for RGC and Evans but a very dark one for Neath after a long and dififcult campaign.
