Harrogate still on shoulder of the leaders

BILLINGHAM still head the table, albeit having played one more game than Harrogate, but a bonus point 33-10 win at home to Morpeth gives the Yorkshire side something to chase.

Joe Evans went over for two, with Matt Kirby, Ryan Kirkbride and Luke Wilson in for one each, Peter Evans was on target with four conversion­s.

Harrogate edged it 1722 away to Blackburn through tries from Sam Brady, Peter Parry and Brandon Hannam, with Sam Fox successful with two conversion­s and a penalty.

Myles Harrap, Cory Logan and Frank Skofic crossed for the home side, with Liam Fifield adding one conversion.

Blaydon moved a touch closer in third after beating Rossendale 23-30.

Rob Bramhall with two and Brad Cave were the try scorers for the home side, with Lewis Allen slotting a conversion and two penalties.

Alnwick were 16-13 winners at home to Kirkby Lonsdale. Jonny Burn and Sean Richardson were the try scorers, with Calum Burn landing two penalties.

Jack Ward was the sole try scorer for the visitors, converted by Ben Walker.

This will be a useful four points for the home side, who remain firmly at the foot of the table.

Sandal took the bonus point 3-34 away at Lymm. Austin Thompson, Declan Thompson, Nick Carolan, Danny Grainger and Thomas Barker were the try scorers, with Greg Wood contributi­ng three conversion­s and a penalty.

Comack Nolan kicked a penalty for the home side.

Macclesfie­ld were 55-22 winners at home to Carlisle.

The star turn was Will Davies who collected 25 points through two tries six conversion­s and a penalty. Other try scorers for the home side were Billy Robinson, Sam Stelmaszek, Josh Redfern, Sam Moss and Harry Oliver with two.

In reply, Max Connon went over for two and James Telford for one. Grant Connon kicked two conversion­s to add to an early penalty.

In the battle at the bottom, Wirral, in 13th place and the only club without a win this season, put that right as they took the honours 36-20 at home to 12th-placed Ilkley.

Stuart Gratton and James Reeve crossed for two apiece, with James Annetts kicking four conversion­s and a penalty.

Harry Wales bagged two for the visitors, both converted by Chuck Ramsey, who also hit two penalties.
