BARNSTAPLE made it five wins from five matches as they stretched their advantage at the top of the division.

Four tries from Brad Talbot set the hosts up for victory while Robbie Mackay scored an impressive double.

Ben Tothill added to the total, with wingers Mitch Salisbury and Alex Howman both crossing on either side of the pitch.

Camborne also remain in the hunt at the top with a 24-17 win at new basement side Brixham. Launceston moved off the bottom after they secured a first league win of the season with a 28-16 success against Newbury

Blues. However, it was Newbury who claimed the opening try through James Lewis.

In reply, Ryan Westren pulled the scores level for the Cornish All Blacks, before Glenn Coles and Torin Clarke both crossed to give their side a 18-8 lead at half-time.

Newbury scored a second try after the break, before a late scrum enabled Brandon Rowley to cross for a further Launceston score.

Okehampton opened their account after just 25 seconds as they sent Ivybridge to their first defeat of the season with a 27-11 scoreline.

Dan Fogerty scored the early effort for Okehampton in a tight first half, which they led 7-5 at the break.

Richie Friend kicked several penalties before Brandon Hall and Fogerty added further tries on their way to victory.

Meanwhile, Drybrook were celebratin­g an 18-17 win over Bracknell.
