Kirby and Wilson keep Billingham top

The boot of Ben Hornby proved crucial as Morpeth edged it over Rossendale with a try and conversion from the last play of the game.

However despite the East Lancashire side taking the try count three to one, four penalties conceded proved the difference.

Rossendale's three tries came from Curtis Strong, who bagged two, and Lewis Allen, who also slotted one conversion for a 12-17 lead. Sam Hornby went in for the all important score to level matters at 17-17, with the conversion sealing the win for the Cumbrians. Macclesfie­ld ran out 2146 winners away at Sandal.

Scott McGregor and Danny Grainger were the try scorers for the home side, both converted by Luke Punton, to add to a penalty try.

In the final game of the round, Kirkby Lonsdale beat Wirral 12-6.
