Billingham still perfect after early snooze

STILL unbeaten Billingham remain in pole position in the Northern Premier after beating
Carlisle 38-7 at Greenwood Road.
Surprisingly it was only 5-0 at the interval with a try from Josh Wilson but after the break the tries began to roll in through Ryan Kirkbride, Michael Whynn, Matt Kirby, Martin Hopley, and Joe Roxby - Peter Evans was successful with four of the
five conversions.
Blaydon keep up the pressure following a bonus try 36-18 win at home to Ilkley.
Gareth Henderson, Dan Taylor, Alex Dodds, Robert Lenderyou and Nathan Bailey were the tryscorers, with Ryan Forman slotting four conversions and a penalty.
Blake Morgan and Eric King crossed for the visitors with Chuckie Ramsey adding a conversion and two penalties. Meanwhile Macclesfield edged it 19-17 away at
Wirral, coming from behind with a try in the 77th minute to take the honours. Dan Percival, James Oliver and Will Davies, who also kicked two conversions, were the try scorers for Macc, with Ben Brooks crossing for the home side, converted by James Annetts, to add to an early penalty try and a penalty.
Harrogate, still with games in hand, close the gap on Macc with a bonus 24-16 win away at Rossendale.
Mason Knowles, Tom Driscoll, Andy Boyde and Oli Rossillo were the try scorers with Sam Fox landing two conversions. Brad Cave got over for the home side with Lewis Allen taking all the other points through three penalties and a conversion.
Alnwick went down 5-3 at home to Blackburn,
Callum Burn with a penalty for the hosts and Jacob McCue over with a try for the visitors, the only points scorers in a tight affair
In the late kick-off
Lymm were 37-20 victors at home to Kirkby Lonsdale. Ollie Higginson, Cashel Cilvers, Joe Senior and Nathan Beesley were the try scorers, all converted by Cormack Nolan who also slotted three penalties. Dave Armistead crossed for the visitors with Barton and Ryan Terry adding a conversion each with Terry also kicking two penalties.
In the final game of the round Morpeth managed to pick up what could prove to be an important losing bonus point, going down 14-12 at home to
Sandal. Bentley Brown and Jake McKay were the try scorers, with Ben Hormby’s sole conversion.
