Holland are Trophy winners

THE Netherlands have been declared winners of the 2019/20 Rugby Europe Trophy, the second division of Rugby Europe International Championships.

Being crowned champions gives them the chance to contest the play-off match for a shot at promotion to the Rugby Europe Championship, which is the pathway for the qualification to the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

There will be no relegation from Trophy to Conference level this year.

Holland will now face the country ranked last in the Rugby Europe Championship.

Their opponent will be known following the final round of the Championship competition, with dates to be announced in due course.
