Law hat-trick keeps Otley sitting pretty

OTLEY maintain their lead at the top of the table following a bonus try 33-19 win at home to Blackburn.

Marcus Law led the charge with a hat-trick with Ben McGee in for one. Joe Rowntree 13 points. Blackburn crossed for three tries through Scott Richardson, Tom Burtonwood and Myles Harrop with Josh Jarrold successful with two conversion­s.

Second place Preston Grasshoppe­rs grabbed six tries in their 40-27 victory at home to Billingham. Tyler Spence, Jordan Dorrington, Craig Proctor with two, and Sam Scott were the try scorers to add to a penalty try. Ben Pearson slotted four conversion­s.

Alfie Lawson, Luke Wilson, Nathan Myers and Martin Hopley were try scorers for Billingham to claim the bonus, with Peter Evans landing one penalty and Job Roxby a conversion.

Burnage took a much needed four points beating Kirkby Lonsdale 19-7 at Battersea Road. Jack Ledgard, George Oakley and Kai Fagan were the try scorers with Ledgard and Oakley kicking one conversion each.

Alnwick trounced Rossendale in a seven-try 53-7 win at Greenfield. Pete Moralee, Jack O’Regan, Rob Cuthbert, Hugh Todd, James Bird, Jonny Burns and Ben Gothorpe grabbed thr tries, with Evan Moir landing six conversion­s and two penalties. Brad Cave crossed for the visitors, converted by Liam McGovern.

Lymm were 7-68 winners away at Northwich in the all-Cheshire derby. Try scorers were Rob Makin, Steve Pilkington with four, Ollie Higginson with two, James Yates, Kurt Riley and Cormack Nolan, who also kicked nine conversion­s.

Macclsefie­ld beat Sandal 51-32 in an entertaini­ng game at Priory Park. Josh Redfern and Sam Moss bagged a brace apiece with John Simpson, Myles Hall, James Hampson and Alex Davies claiming one each. Davies also slotted four conversion­s and a penalty. Will Morecombe, Alfie Sherlock, Ollie Fisher with two, and Luke Adams crossed for the visitors with Luke Punton kicking seven points.

York were 42-17 winners at home to Wirral. George Davies, Shane Golding, Joe Simpson, Ross white, Joe Maud and Tom Wolfenden were the try scorers with Declan Cusack kicking ten points.
