Wimbledon widen gap with bonus win

WIMBLEDON increased their advantage at the top of the table following a 34-7 bonus point win away to Sidcup.

Ollie Kitto claimed two, with Nathaniel Opedo, Archie Brosch and Kain Rix in for one each while Freddie Hooper was successful with four conversion­s and a penalty. Jon West crossed for the home side, Fraser Smith adding the conversion.

Dorking failed to take the bonus point in a very narrow 20-19 victory away at Havant, the home side seeing a late penalty drift inches wide which would have secured the win.

Ollie Rathbone, Ryan Jeffery and Fred Dalton were the Dorking try scorers. Matt Noble slotted a conversion and a late penalty to take the points. Jerome Trail, Scott Morrisand Joel Knight crossed for the home side with Josh Knight adding two conversion­s.

Hertford were 17-8 winners at home to Tunbridge Wells. Charlie Parkhouse scored two and Francis Moore were the other try scorers, with Lloyd Davies adding one conversion. Tommy Justice crossed for the visitors, Luke Giles bringing up the eight with a penalty.

Tring edged it by a point in a close 16-15 tussle away to CS Stags. Jacques Teyser was the try scorer for Tring but the damage was done by the boot of Ben Hogan with a conversion and three penalties making the difference.

Dyfydd Rees crossed for a hat-trick of tries for the home side.

Third in the table

Sevenoaks made up some ground on Dorking taking the bonus point in their 31-10 victory away at

Sutton and Epsom.

Patrick Pelligrini, Henry Galligan, Matt McRea and Scott Sedgwick were the try scorers for Oaks, all converted by Ben Adams with Pelligrini also adding a penalty. Jordan Coombes crossed for the home side converted by Sam Hurley who also kicked a penalty.

Westombe Park were 45-13 winners at home to Maidenhead. Cameron Hancock scored a a hattrick, with Sam Rhodes, Harry Samsbury, Lewis Headland and Aiden Devane the other home try scorers. Hancock completing a successful afternoon with five conversion­s.

Brighton went down 47-8 at home to North Walsham. Stash Maltby was the sole try scorer for the home side to add to an earlier penalty from Sean O’Hagen.
