Sale hit the max in Mowden win
SALE FC extended their recent run of good form with a bonus-point win over Darlington Mowden Park.
A late Neville Edwards try ensured the visitors came away with maximum points after an end-to-end game at the Darlington Arena.
The away side opened the scoring within 30 seconds, as a DMP box-kick was charged down and hooker Josh Brown dived over.
A Louis Johnson penalty got the hosts on the board, but Mowden failed to gather the restart and Tom Walsh raced over in the corner a few phases later.
Things got worse for the hosts after 20 minutes when James Robins latched onto a loose pass to walk over under the posts. Chris Johnson converted all three tries to give the visitors a 21-3 lead.
The hosts reduced the deficit with a Josh Crickmay try to make it 21-8 at the break.
Mowden Park came out firing in the second half and Liam Checksfield sprinted over under the posts. A yellow card for visiting winger Walsh soon followed, but the hosts were unable to capitalise.
Mowden were then reduced to 14 and Johnson added a quickfire brace of penalties before another yellow, for Seb Cecil. Edwards then dived over in the corner.
