Henshaw back as Irish target clean sweep

- By SAM JACKSON

ROBBIE Henshaw will make his first appearance of the season as one of four changes to the Ireland starting XV that beat the All Blacks.

Henshaw is named at inside centre with Bundee Aki missing out through a minor knee injury.

Henshaw is recalled after he sustained a foot injury upon return from the British and Irish Lions tour, during which he started all three Tests.

Joey Carbery and Conor Murray form the half-back duo with Johnny Sexton and Jamison Gibson-Park both ruled out.

Having named the same team for the wins against Japan and the All Blacks, just one of head coach Andy Farrell’s changes is unforced as they attempt to complete a clean sweep, with Ulster’s Robert Baloucoune on the wing in place of Andrew Conway.

“In my experience world class players generally can come back in without too much game time,” said Farrell.

“He (Henshaw) has been in and around camp and he has looked great in training in past few days. I think he will add to the performance.”

Henshaw, right, resumes his Leinster midfield partnership with Garry

Ringrose, who was one of Ireland’s star performers in their success against New Zealand.

It is a second cap for Ulster wing Baloucoune after the 24-year-old marked his debut in the summer with a scintillating try against the USA.

With regular captain Sexton ruled out for up to six weeks with an ankle injury, Carbery gets the start having come on to kick three late penalties last weekend.

The pack remains unchanged, with Iain Henderson partnering stand-in captain James Ryan in the second row in between all-Leinster front and back rows.

Argentina arrive in Dublin having snapped a seven-game losing streak by defeating Italy last week.

The Pumas made history last November by beating the All Blacks for the first time, and are hoping to claim a first win in Dublin today.

“They can be unorthodox opponents and offload the ball at unexpected moments,” Farrell said.

“We have got to be aware of the fact they beat the best team in the world and they have beaten us in big matches in the past.

“They have come to Dublin mindful they have not had a result here before which should spur them on. We are expecting a full on battle.”

Argentina have made three personnel changes to their starting XV which beat the Italians 37-19 in Treviso last weekend.

Head coach Kieran Crowley has recalled Guido Petti and Santiago Grondona to his pack, while Lucio Cinti replaces Santiago Cordero on the wing.

Petti’s inclusion at lock leads to a reshuffle among the forwards, with Marcos Kremer moving into the back row alongside Grondona and Pablo Matera, who switches from blindside to No.8 on the

occasion of his 80th Test.
