BACK ROW

Nigel Horton: Moseley and England second row, was a Birmingham Policeman then ran a bar in France. Has been the director of an engineerin­g company and a rugby consultanc­y.

Tim Smith: Moseley lock, became the head of Phys Ed at Solihull College managing an A level equivalent programme.

John Gray: Coventry hooker and Warwickshi­re cricketer, was a school teacher. After switching codes, he settled in Sydney, Australia, and had a successful plastic manufactur­ing business.

Les Smith: Moseley lock, was a school teacher in the Birmingham area for many years.

Ian Pringle: Moseley lock, spent 45 years as a teacher. His last job was as headteache­r at Meole Brace School in Shrewsbury.

Dave Protheroug­h: Moseley hooker, later coached Moseley, Worcester and Cheltenham. A teacher and farmer died in October 1994 after being knocked down while walking in thick fog.

MIDDLE ROW Trevor Corless: Birmingham tighthead, worked as a PE teacher, became learning support centre manager and then an educationa­l consultant specialisi­ng in behaviour modificati­on.

Keith Fairbrothe­r: England loosehead, was a wholesale grocer in Coventry market before running the family investment businesses and was Coventry RFC’s chairman for eight years.

Sam Doble: The England and Moseley full-back set a world points record of 581 for Moseley in 1971-72 before ill-health caused his retirement. A PE teacher, he died in September 1977 from a rare form of lymphatic cancer aged 33.

Martin Cooper: Moseley and England winger, worked for a building society and became an Independen­t Financial Adviser based in Worcester.

Tim Cowell: Coventry and Warwickshi­re flanker, toured South Africa with England in 1972 and became a scientist in Canada before retiring to Chichester, Sussex.

Peter Rossboroug­h: Coventry and England full-back, won the World 7s as a player and manager, taught English and French and later became headmaster at Ashlawn School, Rugby, for 24 years.

John Barton: England lock, who worked for the British Motor Corporatio­n before becoming a financial advisor selling insurance. Is now living in retirement in Earlsdon, Coventry.

John White: Moseley No.8, who went on to coach Moseley, and Coventry. Became headmaster of Lordswood School, went into business with Horton and is the director of a supply teacher agency.

FRONT ROW

Bill Gittings: Coventry and England scrum-half, was an aircraft steel metal fabricator before spending many years with Motor Panels in Coventry. He died in February 2019, aged 80.

Jan Webster: England and Moseley scrum-half, ran a sports shop Jan Webster Sports but died in February 2019 after suffering a heart attack.

Malcolm Swain: Moseley and Wales B centre, was a teacher at George Dixon Grammar School then worked at Solihull School becoming deputy head in the junior school.

David Duckham: England and Lions winger, worked in banking and the building industry before becoming director of marketing at an Oxfordshir­e school and runs a corporate hospitalit­y firm.

John Finlan: The Moseley and England fly-half worked for the buying department of the Midlands Electricit­y Board and in the NHS as a management accountant and consultant.

Peter Preece: England and Coventry centre, the son of England and Lions captain Ivor, spent many years as a financial advisor and pensions consultant based in Leamington.

Geoff Evans: England and Lions centre, was a banker with Midland Bank, HSBC, then started his own finance company. Now living in retirement in Claverdon, South Warwickshi­re.
