BLACKBURN extended their lead at the top of the table following a 68-12 win at home to Burnage.

Jack Granby and Alex Evans bagged a brace apiece with other tries coming from Jake Foster, Ben Corless, Tom Mayoh, James Brookes, Paddy Gaffey and Leon Fifield, Gaffey on target with nine conversion­s.

Lymm hold on in second place despite going down 36-14 away to third place Rossendale, who are now within two points of the Cheshire outfit.

Lewis Allen was the architect with a 21-point haul through two tries, four conversion­s and an early penalty. Other try scorers were Jordan Lord, Brad Cave and Anthony Bingham while Alfie Simpson and Ben Simpson crossed for the visitors, both converted by Cormack Nolan.

Northwich where the home side edged it 38-34 over Macclesfie­ld.

Wirral beat Manchester 32-25 through tries from Nick Hearn, Chris Crowley, James Reeve and Mark Williams, Dan Harvey adding three conversion­s and a penalty.

Tom Travis scored two tries while Charlie Ding, Sam Powell and Harry Lewis also crossed for the visitors.

Stockport were 26-19 winners at home to

Kendal. Tom Gardner, Rory Atwill, Si Green and Will Connor crossed for tries with Evan Holt successful with three conversion­s. Ben Dixon, Leo Mercer and Joe Allison went over for the Cumbrians with Dan Lowther kicking two conversion­s.

Sandbach ran in 16 tries to rack up a 106-14 win at the expense of the

Kirkby Lonsdale, who are still searching for their first win of the season.

Elliott Morris led the rout with five tries followed by Callum Oakden, Matt Beeson, Ali Burton and Max Beedle with two each, and James Preston and Jack Leech both bagging one. Preston also landed seven conversion­s and Will Cargill six. Kirby Lonsdale got Josh Ree in for two, both converted himself.
