Garden joy for care home
A dementia-friendly garden has been created at Normanby House, Belgrave Crescent, Scarborough, with the support of Pinkney Grunwells Lawyers. The firm of solicitors has given a sizeable donation to the project following a charitable bequest and some of the staff have undertaken training to become “Dementia Friends”. The garden is also being supported by learners from the Career Link Provision at YH Training Services who are working closely with the activities co-ordinator Debbie Dunkerton to transform the area into a multisensory garden. The young people aged 16-19 visited the residents recently and immediately volunteered their time to help re-develop the area. 163407.
