Sports glory sees lingerie sales soar

The town’s Debenhams store has seen an increase in lingerie sales as women take inspiration from the beaches of tropical Latin America and this year’s strong female athletes. Online sales of lingerie and swimwear have seen a spike since the start of the summer (43%), as ladies in Scarborough look to feel good and embrace summer shades. Store manager Carrie Groves said: “It is clear that are correlations between the rise of sales in certain lingerie products and the sporting events this summer.”
