Roadworks uncontrolled

-

During the past few months the High Street on the A170 through Snainton has been dug up on at least 15 occasions with temporary traffic lights installed.

I’m informed most of these ‘digs’ were the waterboard who had at least 10 attempts to repair a leak, resurfacing the road, installing new metal telegraph posts, gas and electricity problems accounted for other times. This work is undoubtedly necessary but each time it appears the work has been concluded, it remains unattended for a few more days.

Eventually the dig has been filled in but we have to wait for another construction unit to Tarmac the road, but still we wait. Yet another department comes to remove the traffic lights, cones and signage.

Wouldn’t it be possible for some of these utilities to work together and possibly keep down to a minimum the inconvenience to locals and traffic?

With all this digging is if someone informs you that there are no jobs for life, they are wrong! Dennis Raisin High Street, Snainton
