The action draws to a close tomorrow with the final day of the Yorkshire v Nottinghamshire game in The Specsavers County Championship.
Tonight, the President’s Marquee will host the Festival Dinner with over 200 guests, including Colin Graves, chairman of the ECB, and impressionist Kevin Connelly as guest speakers.
Sir Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “The Scarborough Cricket Festival is one of the best celebrations of the game in Yorkshire and we look forward to welcoming more than 40,000 people through the gates at North Marine Road this week.
“The festival brings more than £4m to the local economy as visitors not only come to enjoy a day at the cricket but also explore Scarborough itself.
“The town is seeing a real renaissance at the moment with huge investment in the harbour, Open Air Theatre and Spa, not to mention the new waterpark, Alpamare, and I know locals and visitors alike are really reaping the benefits.”
The event is one of the highlights of Scarborough’s sporting calendar and attracts visitors from all over the world, some of whom have been attending for many decades.
