Hutton Buscel flower fest

A flower festival with a Dickensian theme is being staged at the parish church of St Matthew’s, Hutton Buscel on October 1 and 2, starting with a preview on Friday September 30 at 7pm. Churchwarden, Beverley Waldie, said the Charles Dickens Malton Society was giving a presentation on the Saturday night on “Dickens and the Language of Flowers”, while at the preview event, the Wykeham Academy Choir will be singing. Money raised at the festival will go towards work needed on the church’s historic bell tower.
