The “P1 to schools Build a Boat Challenge” is an opportunity to have fun whilst learning about engineering and design. It provides the opportunity to win the P1 to Schools trophy for you, your school or college, or family or youth group, by racing against other teams at Scarborough Engineering Week. Prizes will be awarded to the boat that records the fastest time in each age group - seven to 11, 11-14 and 14-19. The boats you design can be a single or multi-hull but must be a maximum of 30 cm wide and 40cm long. A 9-volt battery pack will power the motor supplied in the P1 to school boat kit but you may choose another method.
