The Trustees of Newby and Scalby Library had a stall in the car park at Proudfoot’s last Saturday and met many customers to whom they explained their plans for keeping the library open after April 1, 2017. The group also signed-up several new volunteers and raised £207.11 for library funds through the sale of second-hand books, despite early rain.

The trustees have written to Messrs Mark and Ian Proudfoot to express their thanks for being given this opportunity, and to Val Aston and Sharon McBean of Proudfoot’s for their support and encouragement in this initiative to benefit the local community.
