‘Virtual Scarboro’

An exciting bid to recreate Scarborough in the game Minecraft for this weekend’s Coastival arts festival is gathering momentum.

A community effort has seen a host of the town’s iconic buildings, landmarks and streets recreated in 3D such as Scarborough Castle, the lighthouse and the Spa as part of Virtual Scarborough. The work will culminate in a huge Minecraft event over this weekend on February 18 and 19, at the Spa. Throughout Coastival there will be many Minecraft workshops for visitors to take part in as well as artwork, music and performances in unusual locations.
