I am writing to thank The Scarborough News and its readers for helping me find a ‘misplaced’ friend of my parents.

You kindly printed my recent letter to your office asking for help with my search, and as a result, I have had phone calls and letters, which have resulted in a telephone reunion - a pleasure all round.

My mother will now be able to reconnect with Anne by letter, and therefore continue the friendship started by my father, Monte, and his friend Geoff way back in the 1930s and ‘40s.
