Scalby Wives

At the latest meeting of the Scalby Wives group 41 members attended a very interesting talk by Will Duffield entitled ‘More Ramblings and Ponderings’.

Will had recently celebrated his 70th birthday and gave an amusing account of his early days as a policeman and then an insurance agent including some of the poems that he had composed on the way.

He gave an excellent reading of a play he had written as part of his attempt to write for radio.

Doreen Brooke was the hostess and refreshments were served by Margaret Lysney, Christine Cooper and Frances Glaves.

No meeting next week because it is half–term. The next meeting will be on Monday February 27 when Anne Pilgrim will present ‘Laughter Lines 2’.
