- COASTIVAL, VARIOUS VENUES

February 18 to 19

Most of Coastival events are free but some need paid tickets and those tickets are now available.

This includes Riders to the Sea, a live performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ one-act opera at Westborough Methodist Church on Saturday 18 at 7.30pm and Sunday at 2.30pm.

Tickets are also required for the Market Hall Myriad of Music and Madness at 9pm on the Saturday.

This promises entertainment amongst the market stalls, including local musicians, Glastonbury performers, a professional comedy compere and Edinburgh-fringe super-hero, Pun Man.

Tickets for A Magical Afternoon Tea, served on the Sunday at 1pm and 3pm at Phoenix Court, include close-up magic as well as tea and tasty cakes.

On both days a Horrid History Walk will set off from the blue police box on Sandside at 4pm for a tour of Scarborough’s darker past, for which a ticket will be needed.

The Stephen Joseph Theatre is the venue for ‘A Kidnapping’, a farce that ensues when a kidnapping goes wrong.

Tickets for this performance, at 3pm on the Sunday, are available from the theatre

Coastival director Wendy Holroyd said: “We pride ourselves on having the bulk of our events during Coastival as free events but in some cases, particularly where numbers are limited, there are ticketed events.”
