At Monday’s lunch club members sat down to a delicious meal of roast potatoes, chicken and vegetable casserole, provided and cooked by Jenny, with Darrell helping to serve. Then tea or coffee with chocolate cake given by Lill who was celebratin­g her birthday. Darrell took meals out to the house bound people. Thank you from all the residents.

Tuesday was organised by Jenny the treasurer, Glaves Close residents had afternoon tea at Betton Farm, tea rooms, and enjoyed various sandwiches, cream and jam scones, and cakes with pleasant staff and good service. We all had a lovely afternoon together, and say thank you to the residents who volunteere­d their cars for lifts.

Bingo was on Wednesday, with just 10 members, but still a nice afternoon. Ted was the caller, and the books and raffle tickets were sold by Vera and Phyl. Tea and biscuits were enjoyed in the interval. Then Ted and Lilian drew the raffle.

The coffee and breakfast morning on Thursday was served and cooked by Phyl and Lilian who prepared a hearty meal of bacon, sausage, beans on toast and black pudding. Then mugs of hot coffee with brown or white toast, and jams and marmalade to choose from, which was enjoyed by the residents, all having a good natter.
