Annual meeting

-

At the Scarborough Trefoil Guild the annual meeting was held on Monday March 20, and was attended by 20 members. The chairman, Mrs Ann Kemp, opened the meeting with the minutes of the committee meeting held on March 6 and these were duly discussed and passed. Thanks were expressed to the retiring members of the committee, Mrs C Burnley, Mrs D Tonks and Mrs P Woodhead for their excellent service over the past years, and the new members of the committee, Mrs L Lowe and Mrs E Livingstone, were welcomed.

It was reported that Scarborough Trefoil Guild now has 28 members and that there are 141 members in the county.

The balance sheet for 2016 was read and discussed by the members and duly accepted and passed. An appeal was made for more helpers by various Brownie and Guide packs in the area who have long waiting lists but cannot find enough necessary adults to help run them. Anyone who may be interested in helping would be very welcome and will discover how very rewarding it can be.

Various members are organising a book club and anyone interested should contact Mrs A Kemp. Mrs L Lowe was presented with her ‘voyager’ award and badge and we are all very proud of her achievement.

Various speakers have been arranged for 2017 including talks on flowering arranging, greeting card making and other outings and trips (suggestions for others would be greatly appreciated). Teas were provided by Mrs B Armitage and Mrs C Ramsden, and the meeting closed with the singing of Afternoon Taps.
