Roberts runs to boost Boro

-

Scarborough Athletic first team coach and Under-19s manager Steve Roberts is donning his trainers to raise money for the club.

After the final game of the season at Colwyn Bay, Roberts will run 200 miles back to Boro’s new base at Weaponness.

His plans are to set off on Sunday April 23 and to complete the run on the following Saturday.

Roberts, who is also a former York City, Pickering Town and Ayton player, is keen for any fans or players to join him on one or more of the legs of his run.

He said: “I wanted to raise some funds for Scarborough Athletic as a tribute to our former chairman Dave Holland, who sadly passed away recently.

“I want to help out with the club he loved and the club he put in so much time and effort for.

“It won’t be easy, at all, so I’m hoping that as many fans or players as possible will come and help me by running a few miles here and there.

Details of how to sponsor Steve will follow next week.
