Quartet shine as Flixton go top

Flixton are joint-top of the Derwent Valley Junior League Under-13 Zone One table after their win by 56 runs against Cayton.

Charlie Colley, Callum Hatton, Elliot Hatton and Freddy Gunning all scored 25 as Flixton tallied 130-7.

Toby Jones then top-scored with 25 in Cayton’s unsuccessf­ul reply.

Seamer toppled Bridlingto­n in their meet-up. Seamer made a score of 1095, Archie Graham (25), Matty Walters (22no), Liam Love (18) and Calum Seastrom (15) taking it forward.

C Potter’s 2-4 and M Pearson’s 2-1 then slowed Brid to 25-8.

Luke Lamplough was unbeaten on 11 and took 2-8 as Scalby beat Driffield Girls by four wickets.

Scarboroug­h beat Forge Valley by eight wickets, with an unbeaten 15 from Isaac Grunwell being the highlight. In Zone Two, Wykeham toppled Duncombe Park by just four runs.

Scores in the 20s from Sam Owen, Charlie Revis and Brad Spiller carried Wykeham to 99-7, with Kit Saggers and Max John bagging two wickets each. Saggers (25) and Sam Rawson (26) then gave Park hope, but Revis’ 2-5 and 2-11 from Oliver Farnon knocked them off course. Duncombe Park bounced back with a win by nine runs against Pickering, as Henry Marwood (26) and Toby Crusher (2-9) shone. Wykeham suffered a loss by 26 runs against Mulgrave in their second game of the week.

Mulgrave’s 123-3 was too much, despite 32 from Sam Owen and 21 from Brad Spiller.

Ebberston had a mixed time, starting with a win by 85 runs against Pickering. J Robertson (26), D Metcalf (28) and Thomas Horsley (25) took Ebberston to 113-3, before all-rounder Horsley’s 2-2, B Bowes’ 2-1 and M Cooper’s 2-4 ended Pickering’s push on 28-8. Ebberston then lost to Nawton Grange by two wickets. Harvey Wood and Josh Lawson grabbed 2-9 and 2-11 respective­ly to slow Ebberston to 65-6.

D Hebron took 2-15 in the reply, but Dan Fearnley’s 25 led Grange home. Pickering came out on top by 53 runs against Mulgrave. Luke Shepherd struck 34 as Pickering made 137-9, Charlie Henry taking four of the wickets to fall.

A wicket each for Matthew Ridley and Ryan Vance slowed Mulgrave to 84-7.
