Liberators cruise past Desperatum

Week seven in Scarboroug­h Flooring Division Three saw two one-sided matches and a tight contest decided by the doubles.

League leaders Liberators Southside cruised past Desperatum.

Nigel Escreet, John Farrell and Steve Miller strolled to a 10-0 victory.

Delphstone also took a straightfo­rward win beating Eastfield Fusion 9-1.

Jonathan Wanless and Joshua Pickin were unbeaten, Callum Seastron took Eastfield’s only point. Rogues and Joshers maintained their improvemen­t with a solid win over Liberators Northside.

John Blaymires took a treble.

The doubles pairing of Blaymires and Dominic Grunwell ensured that Rogues took the win.

In Glazetech Division Two , Ryedale Sports Club took an 8-2 victory over Bingo Mcvitie and look to be in a four-way race for the title with Trinity, Hobnobs B and Whitby Endeavour. Picadore A grabbed a 7-3 win over Resolution.

Resolution’s Stuart Hurworth was responsibl­e for all his team’s points.

A returning Paul Lister took two wins for Eastfield Warriors but they lost 7-3 to Trinity.

Former Eastfield star Piotr Ozon was player of the match with three wins in singles and an epic doubles win with Roy Lowe.

Barry Davies was player of the match for Whitby

Endeavour, contributi­ng three singles wins in a crucial top-of the-table clash with Hobnobs B.

Philip Hatton and Jonathan Parkinson assisted with two wins apiece. Hobnobs A were no

match for Hackness B in Scarboroug­h Flooring Division One.

A Hackness team featuring Peter Kirk, Peter Lee and Derek Elliott ran out 9-1 winners. James Builders’ defeat of Scalby Old Boys saw them cement their place in the top three.

Simon James won his three singles ties, and Mike Fenby’s grabbed two wins for James Builders.

Nomads fell 9-1 to Mavericks.

John Loftus won Nomads’ point against Mavericks’ trio Ross Dransfield, Macaulay Youngson and Nigel Clapham.
