Food fair set to return to town this weekend

-

Scarborough Food Fair returns to Westborough this Saturday with more food producers than ever, three days after the official start of the grouse season.

The August market is the ideal opportunity to top up on food and drink supplies ready for the holiday season, which builds up to the August Bank Holiday on Monday August 31.

The foodie event is set to include a number of regulars, including Yorkshire Wolds Sausage, The Blessed Olive, English Heritage and many more.

Stallholders sell their wares from 9.30am to 4pm, during which there will be lots of tempting flavours and smells to whet the appetite.

Caroline Anderson of The Market Managers, which organises Scarborough Food Fair, said: “We are looking forward to our August market which we hope will be the biggest yet.

“Scarborough Food Fair is the town’s leading outdoor foodie event at which customers can buy quality products for their larder.

“It’s the ideal time to stock up for that barbecue or picnic now that the holiday season is here.

“And for those looking for an edible gift or two, Scarborough Food Fair’s the place to be!”

After the August event, Scarborough Food Fair will return to the streets of Scarborough on Saturday September 19.

The event will run on the third Saturday monthly until November.

There will be a special Christmas market on the first Saturday and Sunday in December.

The fair is a joint venture between Scarborough Borough Council and organisers of Malton Monthly Food Market.
