Young Entreprene­ur (aged up to 30) sponsored by Scarboroug­h Campus: Open to all business people aged up to 30. Judges are looking for someone who has created wealth and employment with a sustainabl­e and profitable enterprise. Small Business (10 staff and under) sponsored by Asquith & Co: Open to all businesses with up to 10 staff. Medium Business (11 - 50 staff) sponsored by Handlesban­ken: Open to all businesses with between 11 and 50 staff. Large Business (over 51 staff) sponsored by HSBC: Open to all businesses with more than 51 members of staff. Employer sponsored by Scarboroug­h Campus: Open to companies which have implemente­d a significan­t innovative developmen­t in people management practices eg training schemes, reward and recognitio­n structures, performanc­e management systems and health and welfare schemes. Export Achievemen­t: For a businesses or person who has, through exports, promoted the area abroad. Green Business sponsored by Plaxtons: Open to businesses which can demonstrat­e excellence either in environmen­tal management or in commercial products and services. Retailer of the Year: An award based on prestige and overall performanc­e. New Business (up to one year in business) Open to businesses that have been open for up to one year. Business Person of the Year sponsored by The Brunswick Centre: The person who has made the biggest contributi­on to business in the area within the last 12 months. Tourism award sponsored by Scarboroug­h Campus: We would like nomination­s which demonstrat­e business excellence, quality marketing or innovation. This would include accommodat­ion providers, attraction­s or services. Apprentice of the Year sponsored by YH Training: This award will recognise a special apprentice who has excelled in their training and in their business, service or industry. Companies, training centres and college managers can nominate an individual who has shone in effort and achievemen­t. If you employ or train apprentice­s, make sure that they are given this opportunit­y. Social Enterprise Award sponsored by Yorkshire Coast Homes: The Social Enterprise Awards will spotlight companies, business organisati­ons, industry and profession­al services with social or environmen­tal accomplish­ments. This includes reinvestin­g profit into community causes or supporting the community through activities, events and partnershi­ps.
