This week’s hot topics online have included: What is your favourite Scarboroug­h attraction past or present? The good old water chute near the North Bay Railway has made it into the Top 20 UK vintage seaside attraction­s. Lucy Moroney: Going to the treasure island on the Hispaniola round the Mere, looking for the gold coins then going in the pedal boats. Mr Marvel’s was also good, kinderland, Water Splash, the tree walk in Peasholm Park... we have nothing now in Scarbor- Janice Thorpe: The tree walk at night round Peasholm Park to name but one of many. Been visiting Scarboroug­h for holidays for more than 30 years! Philip Dickinson: Years ago, there were loads of attraction­s in Scarboroug­h ... now the best attraction­s are the A64 and the 171 or 170 as they take you away from here. Sue Kitching: Got to be the North Bay railway, closely followed by the Peasholm Park tree walk at night.

Water Splash/ Atlantis pool on North Bay, now it’s an eyesore; Marvels at the top, Zoo Marineland, Kinderland, the water chute and the chairlifts, tree walk on Peasholm, the Odean cinema ( we don’t have a decent one ) the Futurist Theatre for the summer shows and winter films. There’s nothing to do here apart from the arcades by the beach. Key points about next year’s Tour de Yorkshire have been revealed by Sir Gary Verity during a speech at Scarboroug­h Cricket Festival.
