Convention identifies the keys to happiness

-

Jehovah’s Witnesses will identify the keys to family happiness during their 2015 Convention starting Friday this week.

The local Scarborough Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses will join 77 congregations attending all three days of the convention at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.

A notable feature will be full immersion water baptism inside the arena on Saturday morning at midday.

The theme of the three-day convention is “Imitate Jesus!” and the programme considers in part how the ministry of Jesus Christ provides parents and children with the tools they need to build stronger and closer families.

The program also includes a practical examination of Jesus’ parables and his famed Sermon on the Mount.

Martin Woodham, a spokesman for the convention programme, explains: “The practical wisdom found in Jesus’ lessons offer timeless advice for everyone, whatever your background and circumstances.”

Highlights of the convention programme include a two-part theatrical production that portrays significant events in Jesus’ life, and interviews and demonstrations that feature practical ways to imitate Jesus today.

The full programme can be found on the Witnesses unique website (jw.org) and selecting the link on the home page. Jehovah’s Witnesses invite people of all ages to attend some or all of the three-day convention.

It runs from Friday to Sunday this week.

Sessions begin at 9.20am each morning and 1.30pm each afternoon.

Conventions of Jehovah’s Witnesses are free public events, supported entirely by voluntary donations.

There is no admission charge and no collections are taken.
