Bosses boosted by Are’s huge donation

-

Scarborough Athletic jointbosses Paul Foot and Bryan Hughes have been handed a huge boost in their quest for promotion.

Boro fan Are Guttelvik has shown his magnificent support for the club ahead of the new season by donating £20,000.

This is the latest of a string of donations from the Norwegian, who has a lifelong love affair with the town of Scarborough and the club.

Guttelvik said: “I know how hard everyone works to ensure our joint-managers have the resources to build a team that will bring us the success we all want, one that will ensure that our club returns to Scarborough on a high.

“Scarborough Athletic is the club I love, and I want us to succeed. In fact this year I honestly think our managers can take us all the way to promotion, I hope my donation will make that task a little bit easier.”

Boss Foot added: “The donation is brilliant news. It is helping us to attract the players we want to bring to this club.

“We would like to thank Are for his continued support.

“He is really helping our plans of pushing the club up towards the play-offs and even higher.”

Guttelvik acknowledged that he is in the fortunate position of being able to help the club out financially more than most, but pointed out that everyone has their part to play.

He added: “We know many people are waiting for our return to Scarborough, but we need as many of those people as possible to back the club now, to show the Council that they are right to help us come home.”
