Ribbon cut on wheelchair-friendy caravan at holiday park
The ribbon has been cut on a new wheelchair accessible caravan at a popular local holiday park. The new facility was opened at the Blue Dolphin Holiday Park, with local councillor and businessman Tony Viney doing the honours. Mr Viney, the vice-chairman of Gristhorpe and Lebberston Parish Council joined the 1st Filey Guide group and together staff and volunteers from the Holiday Homes Trust. Over the years the trust have provided many families or individuals with an affordable holiday in adapted caravans which are all wheelchair accessible. They have nine caravans on eight popular UK holiday parks around the coast located at West Sussex, Devon, Scarborough, Great Yarmouth, Hampshire, Dorset and Cornwall. A spokesperson said: “They aim to provide low cost holidays in caravans that are adapted for wheelchairs with accessible ramps and verandas. “Four of their caravans have wet rooms and two have wheel-in showers. “Over the years they have had many people stay with them who have a disability, as well as families with a member with special needs. “They aim to provide holidays for people who could not otherwise afford a holiday or cannot find accommodation to suit their needs. “They believe that everyone deserves a holiday and want to do all that they can to help them achieve this.” If you would like further information please contact the Trust on 020 8433 7290/1 or visit their website above.
