Scarborough Sea Life Centre is preparing for the first frightful event of its kind.

For one week only guests to the centre will have the opportunity to come face-to-face with some of the world’s most feared predators.

Daisy the American Alligator, John the Reticulated Python and other appropriately named creatures are set to take centre stage at the new Face Your Fears event starting on Monday October 26 until Sunday November 1.

Aquarist Jordan Woodhead said: “We are thrilled to be able to give our guests the opportunity to get closer than ever before to these amazing creatures in a safe and controlled environment.

“American Alligators are native to South Eastern America and can grow over four metres long so this really is a one of kind chance to come close to Daisy who is currently still a juvenile.

“In the wild American Alligators are facing conservation challenges due to the growing popularity of skinned goods such as boots and handbags. We are privileged to have Daisy as the perfect ambassador to help educate the public about the dangers surrounding these incredible creatures.”

Face Your Fears aims to inspire and educate guests about conservation issues surrounding amazing creatures throughout the globe. There will be talks and handling opportunities. To find out more go to www.visitsealife.co.uk/ scarborough
