Cuppa cheer and a chat for town’s carers

-

Attention all carers in the Scarborough area – a series of coffee mornings have been organised just for you.

Scarborough and Ryedale Carers’ Resource is running coffee mornings for carers of all ages in Scarborough, kindly sponsored by Voice Your Choice.

The coffee mornings will be held on Wednesday 19 October, Wednesday 23 November and Wednesday 21 December between 10am and noon at the Stephen Joseph Theatre.

The Scarborough group has focused on wellbeing over the last few months and it has had various local complementary therapists visiting to offer free treatments to give carers a well-earned rest.

The Carers Resource also hosts a group in Hunmanby, meeting on Thursday 20 October and Thursday 24 November between 10am and noon at the Spring Cafe on Church Hill.

All unpaid carers are most welcome to come along.

Chief officer at Carers Resource, Elizabeth McPherson, said: “We support many carers who often find themselves feeling isolated and we are keen to give carers the chance to meet others for a chat and have some much needed time out of their caring role, also the opportunity to meet others in similar situations.

“One of our experienced support workers will be on hand to answer any questions you might have around your caring role.

“The group is welcoming and very friendly.”

Scarborough and Ryedale Carers Resource provides free confidential information, advice and support to unpaid family carers and can be contacted at staff@carersresource.net or by calling 01723 850155.
