A patients organisation in the Scarborough area is offering advice on how to keep warm throughout the winter.
The Patient Participation Group (PPG) for West Ayton and Snainton Surgeries is working in partnership with Derwent Valley Bridge Community Library and Resource Centre to run a free event at Ayton Village Hall.
The event, held between 10am and 2pm on Thursday 3 November will offer practical advice about how to keep warm and well during the winter months.
A spokesman for the event said: “Come and watch the cookingdemonstrationwhich will offer tips on healthy eating, cooking for one and cooking on a budget.
“The recipes will then be made available for participants to use at home.
“There will be a chance to try out exercises that can be done sitting in a chair and information on how you can keep active. There will be the opportunity to talk to the experts about ways in which technology and aids to daily living can help you or a friend or relative keep safe and independent at home.
“Come and chat to representatives from many organisations offering information and practical support to aid daily living.
“There will be stands and displays giving valuable information about different services and promoting ways of staying active and healthy.
“Organisations already signed up to take part are Coastcall, Derwent Valley Bridge, AGE UK, Rural Action Yorkshire, Active Mobility, Everyone Active and Health Walks.”
The PPG represents the interests of patients using the four surgery sites and works with surgery staff and local groups to promote all aspects of health and wellbeing affecting local residents.
