The county is full of fantastic attraction­s, beautiful scenery and events here there and everywhere. Each week we will pick ten things, which we think could make your week even better.

1 WHITBY ABBEY. - This Hallowe’en half term join in frightenin­gly fun activities with the Victorian Undertaker. Wrap up warm and take a wander around the atmospheri­c abbey that inspired Bram Stoker’s gothic story, Dracula. The event runs from October 22 to 30. See

Bram Stoker’s inspiratio­n in a new light as Whitby Abbey is bathed in dramatic illuminati­ons. Costumed characters will introduce the darker side of the past with tales of grave robbing and witch trials. Until October 29.

2 LIVING SEAS. The Living Seas Centre at South Landing Flamboroug­h: The centre has lots to offer any budding marine biologist with displays and activities all centred around the marine wildlife found on and off Yorkshire’s coastline. The centre is open daily from 10am to 5pm and is free to enter.

3 SEWERBY HALL.- Wednesdays throughout autumn costumed interpreta­tion days begin at SewerbyHal­l and Gardens starting on Wednesday November 2 with Join the Servants – a chance to find out about the Edwardian servants’ lives.

4 SCOOTER RALLY. The weekend of classic Italian scooters, cool music and fantastic live bands. Evening entertainm­ent with DJs and live bands Friday and Saturday nights. Friday night: The Absolute

Kinks Saturday daytime: England’s largest fair and customs show dedicated to all things scooters. Saturday Night: Capital Eye with more live bands to be announced. Bridlingto­n Spa, Friday to Saturday.

5 BONFIRE NIGHT. The Burniston and Cloughton Bonfire Night event takes place at Burniston Village Hall, Burniston, Scarboroug­h, with adults £3, children £1 and under 5s go free. Traditiona­l food and refreshmen­ts will also be available, however, please note sparklers will not be allowed. Gates open at 6pm; bonfire lit at 6.30pm; firework display from 7pm.

6 ROCKY HORROR SHOW. The world’s favourite rock ‘n’ roll musical is back by popular demand to thrill you once again with its frothy fun and naughty moments. Following over 40 years of worldwide production­s, Richard O’Brien’s Rocky Horror Show is a non-stop partyt. Leeds Grand from Monday to November 5

7 SPOOKY TRAIL. If you’re feeling brave this half term then venture over to Burton Agnes Hall and take part in the spooky woodland trail. Intrepid visitors are invited on an eerie hunt round the Hall’s atmospheri­c woodland, where clues are hidden amid spooky Halloween scenes of witches, spiders and ghostly figures. Runs until October 31.

8 CASTLE HOWARD ACTIVITIES. Brush up on your broom making skills, stir up trouble in our potion lessons and practise your scaring with trick or treat training. Rusticus workshops on daily at noon, 1.30pm and 2.30pm. Until October 29

9 CABARET. - One of the most original and innovative shows - that’s the promise for NoAngel Uncensored at East Riding Theatre, Beverley on Saturday October 29. This is a no holds barred, full-on performanc­e. It features Charlie Bicknell, Delilah in BBC2’s This Life.

10 HALLOWE’EN ACTIVITES. Sewerby House and Gardens near Bridlingto­n has a programme of events until Sunday October 30. V,isitors will be able to take part in our a Halloween Trail, Help Derek the Ghost find all the things he needs for a Halloween party. Witch crafts and potion making and zombie archery.
