University will pay you to help promote safer sex
A new project by Coventry University is to pay couples £400 to help promote safe sex.
The university, which has a campus in Scarborough, is targeting three sets of couples to be tastefully shot” having sex in “natural settings” including a car and a student room, to promote condom use.
The videos are part of the university’s Chance2Change Project which aims to encourage people aged 15 to 24 to use condoms.
However, project leader Dr Katie Newby said that the videos would only be available to people over 18 years old as part of an initiative designed by the project called Wrapped.
Dr Newby said that despite the well know risks of unprotected sex, the NHS still spends £620million-per-year treating sexually-transmitted diseases. “We are hoping that the work will ultimately reduce the incidence of sexually transmitted infections amongst young people,” she said.

The CU Scarborough £14 million university campus opened last month, with students moving into the new state-of-the-art campus building at Weaponness.
They have studied at the Scarborough Spa for the past 12 months while the new building – which will eventually house more than 2,000 people - has taken shape.
