The Tuesday coffee morning continues to give your kind donations for coffee towards the purchase of a new Doppler Scanner for Sherburn Surgery.

At Sunday morning worship we were delighted to welcome some of our Anglican friends to share our worship. This was led by the worship team with music provided by Janet on the organ and Chris Cade, Tony Mok, Tom Webborn and Jean Brown on guitars. We were welcomed by Christine Pickard and Ray Pickard took up the offertory. The gifts were received and dedicated by Jean Brown.

Barbara Grice read from Matthew’s Gospel about Salt and Light and Liz Aconley read to us a reflection about the uses of salt and led the prayers of confession. We sang about light, singing Shine Jesus Shine with actions taught to us by Jean. Christine Fenwick told us a story about reflected light. Trying to reflect Christ’s light is not always an easy job and Sandra Cade, India Heron and Kiara Heron illustrated and read to us Psalm 91 which tells of how God will protect us. Chris Cade told of an instance when he and Sandra had come under God’s protection.

We then lit candles for all the Anglican churches in the benefice and the Methodist churches in our circuit and prayed for them to work together to be salt and light in our area. The audio visual was by Luke Heron. After worship we enjoyed coffee together in the hall.

The worship next Sunday at 10.30am will be led by Mr Martin Mellowdew and all are welcome. welcome home dinner at the High Hall.
