Scarborough Ladies stunned runaway Yorkshire League Division Five North leaders Selby 2nds by ending their unbeaten run with a 2-0 victory. Lilly Thompson shone in the opening exchanges to keep Scarborough out of trouble.

Scarborough took hold of the game after this and a flurry of passes involving Joanna Shepherd and Alex Seymour fed Harriet Stephenson.

Her strike was saved, but captain Kelly Brown followed up and dinked the ball home to make it 1-0.

Goalkeeper Maddy Hill then came to the fore, making a string of fine saves as Selby searched for parity.

Scarborough pushed on in the second half, with Stephenson firing just wide and Lattia Emms nearly getting on the end of a defence-splitting pass from right midfield.

Stephen son then produced her signature reverse strike through the keeper’s pads to wrap up the victory for Scarborough.

Charlie Meatheringham continued his fine debut with a second to make it 4-0 at the break.

The second half saw Bradford adapt to a more attacking approach as they search for an early goal.
