Trust’s chief hails passion, dedication and commitment of services following major success
Two teams which provide services in the Scarborough area scooped winners’ trophies at an NHS awards ceremony.
Two NHS teams which provide mental health and learning disability services in the Scarborough area scooped winners’ trophies at an NHS awards ceremony.
Held earlier this month at Hardwick Hall Hotel, County Durham, the annual ceremony saw 20 individuals and teams pick up awards across ten categories.
More than 230 nominations were received for the awards, with 40 nominees being shortlisted for the final.
The learning disability service administration team from Eastfield Clinic in Scarborough were highly commended in the Non-Clinical Team of the Year category.
This award recognised outstanding teamwork in a nonclinical area, for a team that demonstrated a ‘can do’ approachinimplementingchange or introducing new services.
North Yorkshire learning disability services claimed the Outstanding Initiative – Clinical Services award.
This award showcased best practice and innovation from a team who had developed and successfully implemented a new or improved service or delivered a successful project.
The service were crowned winners for developing a quality assurance group which makes sure patients have a voice in the governance of the service and that their views are heard and responded to. The group was lauded for making sure co-production between staff and patients is at its heart.
Trust chief executive, Colin Martin said: “It’s the true passion, dedication and commitment of our staff that allows us to continue to provide our high quality services.
“We are very privileged to have such a fantastic workforce that consistently strives to minimise the impact of mental ill health and learning disabilities for our service users and to improve not only their lives, but those of their families and carers too.”
The ceremony was compered by journalist, broadcaster and author Peter Barron MBE and awards were presented by the Trust’s chief executive Colin Martin.
