What they said about top night ...
Last year’s awards were a glittering success. Afterwards, some of those who attended sent through their thoughts:
Iain Butterworth , of Butterworth Marine, said: “The Scarborough Business awards event was a buzzing night from start to finish and it was great to see the Scarborough and district community come together for the night and celebrate its achievements, both old and new. Attending the event was great, to actually come away as winner of the best new business was fantastic.”
Andrew Boyes, of Boyes Stores, said: “We thoroughly enjoyed the night. A superb evening, brilliantly organised, lots of glitz and glamour and a great way to showcase and celebrate the success of so many local businesses. Congratulations to all concerned.” Nick Sharples, of Handelsbanken: “The third year for the Scarborough News Business Awards – and the best yet. We at Handelsbanken are delighted to give our support”.
Andrew Clay, of Woodend Creative: “A fabulous evening and may I say glamorous too! Great to see so many people and be part of it.”
Sarah Mills, of Flamingo Land: “It was great to meet the other people on the table, and the event was again well organised.”
Bob Watmore, of Derwent Training Association, said: “Congratulations on a fantastic event. It ran seamlessly and was very much enjoyed by all I spoke to and particularly the team from ABGraphic, who were mainly production team leaders who had never had an opportunity to experience such an event.”
Brian Davidson, Scarborough-based business leader, said: “It was a highly-polished and very entertaining tribute to the businesses of the Yorkshire coast. It was a privilege to be invited and be inspired by some of their stories”
Alan Atkinson, of AlexanderDennis Plaxton, said: “What a tremendous night, brilliant organisation and a great atmosphere to show case all that is good about the Scarborough business community.”
Di Walker, executive chairperson of Karro Food Group, said: “The award win was a fitting recognition of the hard work of everybody across the business. It is always pleasing to be recognised for your achievements in front of your peers and we’re delighted to have received this award against some extremely tough competition.”
Chris West, of West BS, Bridlington, said: “Everyone was of the same opinion that it was a very well organised and balanced event with a good atmosphere. The entertainment by the band added to the vi- tality of the evening and Jon Hammond was excellent in his presentation – most professional with a touch of humour.”
Laura Cotter, of BStreamlined, said: “The band was fantastic. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners, what a fantastic celebration of local business!” Hunprenco said: “We are overwhelmed by the achievement of winning the Export and Overall Winner Awards and the achievement is all down to the hard working men and women at Hunprenco Limited.” Businesswomen Tina Boden, said: “I am invited to many business award events. It was however refreshing to attend ScarboroughBusinessAwards 2016, with the micro businesses represented there and the independent businesses.”
